♻️ What if your old IT equipment didn’t just get recycled—but was reborn as something new? Instead of letting end-of-life IT go to waste, Klyk are working hard to ensure materials are repurposed and reimagined. At Klyk, the vision is clear: no IT waste to landfill. Every piece of old tech has the potential to be something new.
When the conversation first kicked off with Asad and the Klyk team we instantly knew this was a perfect match; a technology business looking to make real, sustainable impact and change. The brief was to challenge the way other businesses think about their technology end of life and also implement e-commerce functionality to support and capitalise upon the growing mindset change when purchasing new tech, making refurbished the right choice.
The brief came in multiple parts. First was to deliver Klyk’s new brand identity into its new digital home, building a Shopify Plus store to primarily be a content hub housing a vast amount of rich media content that supported Klyk’s B2B positioning.
There was also the need to enable B2B e-commerce utliasing Shopify Plus to support the businesses that were constantly on boarding.
On top of all that, we were also briefed to connect and enable product feeds from market places to switch on D2C e-commerce and facilitate dynamic, fuss free stock feeds as well as integrate Hubspot for B2B lead generation and data capture.
As ever, the challenges become apparent when understanding how to build to support any existing way of working and proposed new processes.
These core challenges were designing and implementing a reusable set of Shopify sections that were flexible for in-house marketing. Klyk (rightly so) placed a big emphasis on brand execution. It was a challenge that we were eager to get stuck into and overcome (We think we did alright 😉).
We also were presented with the challenge of working with 3rd party SAAS suppliers, managing the unique requirements when integrating product feeds and delivering a data sync that matched the proposed Meta Fields and Objects while working around variant limitations.
Always, the first part of any successful solution is in the planning and preparation.
To kick off, we enter a discovery to better understand the brand and the technical needs. To deliver the store design that met the brand guideline and also got stakeholder approval, we methodically worked though the information required to execute a hierarchy of copy and imagery focussed on a set of objectives; data capture, sales conversions and brand positioning. Our process was the enabler to allow us to produce Creative That Converts.
On top of the creative execution, the technical delivery solution was built on the functions available to Klyk via Shopify Plus and harnessing the power of B2B set ups. Klkk needed a role based approval process for line managers and staff with purchasing powers; all available in Shopify Plus.
We also worked closely with the Klyk team to understand how they wanted to manage the stock inventory and how that data was being sent to Shopify using APIs from 3rd party feeds. With clear and consistent communication with all stakeholders, we designed and implemented a set of Meta Fields that directly important data into the product admin which in turn displayed on the product pages. This allowed for a hands off approach to manage inventory as it was connected from other refurbished market places that met that Klyk standards of quality and assurance.
